It's a fabulous story spanning more than 70 years that, season after season, excites millions of fans around the world.
Unique and legendary moments, from unrivalled dominators such as Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton, winners in seven occasions, to "once and never again" world champions such as Kimi Räikkönen and Jody Scheckter, to iconic and unlucky drivers like Michele Alboreto or Gilles Villeneuve, who went down in history even though they did not win the gold medal.
It is a story made up of heroes capable of giving new hope at the end of the Second World War, from Nino Farina to Alberto Ascari and Juan Manuel Fangio, who was the unrivalled champion throughout the 20th century.
It is a story coloured in red, that fiery red of passion and emotions that in Formula 1 has only one name: Ferrari. The Prancing Horse was the only point of reference, a symbol capable of enriching the world of engines with epic wars at the last overtaking with the British giants, McLaren and Williams, the French, Renault, and the Germans, Mercedes.
It is a story made up of the many tears shed, from Monza for Ronnie Peterson to Zolder for Gilles Villneuve and Imola for Ayrton Senna, with many other names that have died for the motoring cause.
It is a story of asphalt, curves, acceleration and circuits that have become part of the collective imagination. Hockenheim, Spa, Silverstone, Suzuka, Monza, enchanted places where everything can begin or end. The hopes of free practice, the certainties of qualifying and the tension of the race, awaited and feared, capable of overturning even the most apparently peaceful afternoon at any moment.
Forty stories, forty iconic characters, forty careers that have become part of the myth of this sport that has accompanied our lives since that 13th May 1950 when a magical story began at Silverstone, the story of Formula 1.
