Two years after the first volume, comes Time to Race Part. II. Watches and speed. Other new stories of men and machines, the new book by watch collector John Goldberger and car specialist Cesare Maria Mannucci.

With this second volume, the two authors thought that the journey through the common history of motor racing, the drivers, and the watches associated with them should be completed.

John Goldberger e Cesare Maria Mannucci this time they wanted to broaden the horizon as much as possible: from the gold pocket repeater of the early 900s to the lightest tourbillon wristwatch in the world created by Richard Mille, always in the wake of motorsport.

This new volume is also enriched with a special chapter linked to the Actors and the watches they wore in the films dedicated to the world of racing, digging up productions ranging from the 30s to the 70s.

Among the protagonists of this journey through time, we find characters such as the legendary Ing. Forghieri and his Heuer Carrera, or Jean Todt with its immense and truly unique collection of watches, passing through the Paris-Alger-Dakar and to the trophy watch most closely linked to the reference competition, i.e. the Cartier Cheich.

This journey has led them to the discovery of real treasures, such as the Rolex chronograph that won the pilot Lorenzo Bandini for winning the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona in his Ferrari P4. Or the Rolex Oyster that Cesare Fiorio gave to Marie-Claude Beaumont for its presentation at Liège-Sofia-Liège aboard the Lancia Flavia.

Time to Race Part. II is divided into 4 chapters dedicated to Riders, Actors, Circuits and to watch manufacturers. Over 90 racing icons have been carefully selected, and their personal watches are detailed in the 546 pages of this beautiful, timeless volume!
