Bertone - Pioniere des Autodesigns is the first catalogue of Bertone's work, whose name is associated with over 120 years of automotive design.
Giovanni and Nuccio Bertone designed futuristic and iconic cars that became inspirational models for the entire automotive industry.
As a journalist, author Roger Gloor had the professional opportunity for many years to visit Bertone, Pininfarina and Ital-Design, the company founded in 1968 by Bertone's chief designer, Giugiaro, to analyse the background to their work and to test the latest prototypes.
After Ital-Design was taken over by Volkswagen and Pininfarina became part of the Indian Mahindra group, Bertone went out of business in 2014.
All this motivated the author to record his long experience and knowledge in a unique and independent documentary volume.
Here, for the first time, all the design proposals, unique pieces and completed series models for more than 40 automotive brands are described.
All 320 Bertone models are described and illustrated, with additional tables and a name index of 1,290 people, from 1912 to 2019, making this a unique and valuable work.
