Sicily is a land of glorious and great racing fans, like the Carter Rino Rao, who reveals in his book The Etna Cup and its pilots the short but intense story of a tough competition in the 1920s it I as an event of national provenance.
Among the important names of the three editions, which were held from 25 to 28, there are those of Tazio Nuvolari and Achille Varzi. Along with their Aymini, Balestrero, Borzacchini, De Sterlich, Magistri, Aymo Maggi, driving Alfa Romeo, Bugatti, Delage, Ferrari, Maserati and other powerful racing cars.
The magic of that race revives in volume, which starting from the careful reconstruction of the competitive aspects, highlights the social environment that formed the backdrop to this golden age veteran Sicilian sports. Of the three winners Magistri, Maggi and Borzacchini, the author draws an interesting profile, offering also an unprecedented confrontation between the latter and Nuvolari and Varzi.
