Lotus Elise is a small Lotus sports car that marks the brand's rebirth in the category of small sports cars in the 1990's: this is a return to the brand's own origins after the failure of the Elan M100 front-wheel drive. Radical, Elise is an essential sport car, without any need for definitions; this allowed to hold down his price: 165,000 francs at his launch in France in 1996. This quickly assured a great international success. Today, Elise is in its third generation and Lotus is broadly economic growth. The Elise celebrates its 20 years of existence in 2016, and the cars of the first series are already for collectors, as the demand for derivatives and special versions grows. The work follows in a chronological order the model's career and its numerous versions, from the first series to the current one, passing through special and limited versions such as the Exige coupe.
