Paolo Rampini was born in December 1949 in Milan, the city where he has always lived. He had a passion for toy cars since he was a child.
"At 13 years old, he had a collection of 150 models". After 50 years of collecting, he still has a collection of around 12,000 pieces, most of which are die-cast models.
Paolo Rampini started his career as publisher and author of books on antique toys and model cars in 1982. From then to 2023 he has produced 29 paper books, among which The Golden Book of Model Cars (1995), and the books on Bburago and Brumm stand out for their interest and success.
Modelcars in the world 1900-1985, published in 2007, is dedicated to model cars. As in other books by the author, extensive space has been given to photography in order to have the most reliable scientific documentation possible.
In this volume, a must for collectors, all the models in the author's collection are photographed and described, produced worldwide in every scale from 1900 to 1985.
