In 1845, Jean-Louis Périn created a small workshop for the production of carpentry machines, he could never have imagined that his initiative would have led, less than half a century later, to a global event: the birth of the automotive industry! In 1889, its future members, René Panhard and Emile Levassor, make the decision to design a car and market it in a small series. In this they see a great opportunity to promote the quality of the oil engine created by the German Gottlieb Daimler, whose company has acquired the manufacturing license. This project is made with the construction of a prototype in 1890, the publication of a catalog of advertising in August 1891 and finally the delivery of the first car on October 30.
All the details of this incredible saga are told in this book, from the beginning of Jean-Louis Périn's lab until the outbreak of World War II.
