My original vision in pursuing this project was to combine many of the technical articles I have written over the years for the "Restoration Corner" column of MBCA's magazine, The STAR, with high-quality images of the 190 SL, incorporating both into a coffee table book that celebrates the history and beauty of this automobile classic. This book does just that! Starting from the beginning, we pay homage to the conception and birth of the 190 SL and its re- creation project by Dr. Larry Pappo. Included are a buyers guide and a visual timeline to assist potential buyers and owners with a definitive definition of the 190 SL. We offer many technical tips on all aspects of the 190 SL and provide information that is useful for any classic car owner. Lastly, we share our on-the-road travel experiences with our readers, taking them to car rallies in Australia, Tasmania, China, Europe, and United States.
