This restaurant is a true legend in the history of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Located on the edge of the track, on the Mulsanne straight, just before the first chicane, the current LMP1 cars whiz here at 345 km / h!

Since 1923 it has contributed extensively to build the legend of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, welcoming fans and sportsmen from all over the world.

Since 1928, the Génissel family has made it an authentic and unmissable place to watch racing cars go by at full speed.

François Génissel and then his illustrious son Maurice welcomed spectators, teams and drivers in a simple and warm way, and many of them have long been associated with this place.

Among these Fangio, Behra, Trintignant, Davis, the Gordini, Bugatti, Abarth and Jacky Ickx teams, who will remain loyal to Maurice Génissel, until the latter's death.

Auberge des Hunaudières is also famous for hosting the memorable celebrations of the Matra and Renault victories, during which the champagne of a great brand flowed freely!

More recently, Dominique and Nathalie Trotté pamper the small world of motor racing with great passion, in a unique setting rich in history, on the edge of the fastest national road in the world.

This book takes you, through numerous testimonials from drivers and visitors, to the most atypical place of the Le Mans circuit, where the chlorophyll scents of cut grass mix with the acrid smell of roaring engines and the flavours of the cuisine of this memorable restaurant. .
