Based entirely on true events, Il telo retraces the life and career of Danilo Baldi, a worker who entered the Ferrari factory when he was just fifteen years old and remained there for forty years.
A shared path that sees both the protagonist of the events and the "prancing horse" grow constantly. As time went by, the spectre of hunger, deprivation and bombings gave way to internationally recognized professional successes. A story of passion, humanity and sport in the name of Italian excellence par excellence.
On the one hand, the family relationship with Enzo Ferrari, the meetings with iconic protagonists in the history of Ferrari and motor racing in general (Tazio Nuvolari, Laura Garello, Giancarlo Bussi, Masten Gregory, Jochen Rindt, Colonel Ronnie Hoare, Phil Hill among others), the evolution of the Maranello company from a machine tool factory to an iconic brand admired throughout the world.
On the other, alternating with the main narrative in the form of flashbacks, the partisan resistance in the city of Modena, which Danilo Baldi experienced as a thirteen-year-old boy.
A profoundly human narrative, never rhetorical, at times ironic, devoid of good and bad, in which all the characters, from the farmer who cuts off his finger to avoid being called up to arms to the German lieutenant who falls asleep crying over the photo of his distant wife and daughter, are shown for what they are: victims of a war they have not decided on, waiting for dawn.
