San Piero a Sieve is a town, part of the municipality of Scarperia and San Piero, and is located in the metropolitan city of Florence.
San Piero has been the scene of many historic car and motorbike races, such as the Mille Miglia and the Mugello Road Circuit.
The start and the pits of the latter were right near the town.
In 1967 San Piero hosted a Formula 3 race, on the Fortezza road circuit, valid for the sixth round of the Italian championship.
Among the participants, the names of Carlo Facetti, Mauro Nesti, Lella Lombardi and Tino Brambilla, the final winner of the race, stand out.
