On 21 June 1914, the quiet, dusty roads that run through the small village of Mugello - a beautiful hilly region on the outskirts of Florence - were transformed into the scene of a car race.
Since then, through alternating vicissitudes, Mugello has become synonymous of racing, engines and heroes of the wheel, so that in the early 1970s the old road circuit, properly reduced in its extension, was closed to everyday traffic and even transformed into a racetrack.
But Mugello's evolution was not yet over. In 1988, Ferrari bought the autodrome and began radical renovation work to make it the most fascinating and safest circuit in the world.
After two years, the new Mugello circuit is an astonishing reality and in September 1991 the Ferrari Club Italia decides to celebrate its big meeting there. Two hundred Ferrari cars converge on Mugello, colouring it red.
The history of the circuit, the chronicle of the meeting organised by the Ferrari Club Italia and the description of the main works to transform the circuit are all included in this book, which is intended as a twofold tribute: to an amazing land and to the Prancing Horse that has chosen it as a second home.
