Monaco et le sport automobile, an exceptional box set on the golden age of motor sport in Monaco. Relive the golden age of the Monaco Grand Prix and the Monte Carlo Rally.

Monaco has a special place in motor sport. In 1890, the Sport Vélocipédique Monégasque (today the Automobile Club de Monaco) organised the first Monte Carlo Rally. In 1929, the Principality hosted its first Formula 1 Grand Prix. Since then, the Principality has been the scene of many historic feats and records, duels between legendary drivers and sensational victories.

Of all the Grand Prix disputed in Formula 1, the Monaco Grand Prix is undoubtedly the most prestigious. From 1950 to 1965, the great photographer Edward Quinn immortalised what can be considered Monaco's golden era.

This book contains 275 previously unpublished photographs, selected from Edward Quinn's personal archives, to bring to life a fundamental chapter in the Principality's motoring past.

The Monte-Carlo Rally, a legendary race in the heart of winter, internationally renowned thanks to its departure from several European cities and become famous for its legendary special stages, from the Ardèche to the Southern Alps, from the Burzet plateau to the Col de Turini, crossed at night under the spectators' torches.

Monaco et le sport automobile reveals the golden era of this legendary rally, from 1961 to 1986, its changes and the continuous technical upgrading of the competing cars, the highlights, as well as the race records through 250 stunning photographs that show all the risks involved in order to win.
