Published to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Barbados Rally Club - founded in 1957 following the success of the inaugural June Rally - this full-color coffee-table book serves as the official, comprehensive history of the club.
Drawing extensively from the organization's own archives as well as the personal collections and recollections of long-standing competitors and officials, the book traces the evolution of island motorsport, covering everything from circuit racing to special stage rallying.
0 to 50: The Barbados Rally Club 1957 - 2007 is heavily illustrated, featuring over 200 photographs and images, many of which were previously unpublished and sourced directly from personal scrapbooks.
More than just a chronological record, the volume profiles several "Bajan" motorsport legends and features personal contributions from local, regional, and international figures within the racing community.
The foreword was authored by Sir Clifford Husbands, the then Governor-General of Barbados, who was himself a former competitor and official of the club. The book was officially launched to the public during the club's 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner on May 12, 2007, at the Sherbourne Conference Centre.
