This collector's photo book is dedicated to the Rally Internazionale di Sicilia / Targa Florio Rally, whose first edition was held in 1972 and won by Sandro Munari and Mario Mannucci in an official Lancia HF.
In the following edition, in 1973, Sandro Munari and Mario Mannucci won again driving a Fulvia HF, ahead of Amilcare Ballestrieri and Silvio Maiga in a Lancia Fulvia HF. Sergio Barbasio and Gino Macaluso came third in a Fiat 124 Spider, while Maurizio Verini and Bruno Scabini came fourth in another Fiat 124 Spider.
The International Rally di Sicilia was thus becoming an unmissable event for the strongest drivers of the period and for manufacturers, who considered it an important test bench for their cars, due to the truly gruelling nature of the route that these teams had to tackle.
In the following years, the Rally took a further leap in quality, becoming a round of the European Championship, and since 1978 it has been combined with the Targa Florio.
This book presents the editions from 1972 to 1983, with around 450 exclusive images in both colour and b/w, the memories of some of the main protagonists (Franco Cunico, Mauro Pregliasco, Tony Fassina, Lucky, Mario Pasetti, Dario Cerrato, Geppi Cerri, Rudy Dalpozzo, Emilio Radaelli) and the relative rankings.
