Until 1970 it was a regularity race and the best Italian drivers took part; from 1970 until the last edition it became an important rally and always valid, with the maximum coefficient, for the great National Rally Trophy.
The race was won by drivers like Pittoni, Bacchelli, Taufer, Besozzi, Liviero, and "Tony" Fassina.
