The book "Toivo" is an in-depth biography and tribute to Henri Toivonen, one of the most spectacular and beloved rally drivers of all time, who tragically lost his life alongside his co-driver Sergio Cresto when their Lancia Delta S4 crashed and caught fire during the 1986 Tour de Corse.
The title of book is taken from the affectionate nickname, "Toivo," given to the Finnish driver by his friends and team members. The work is divided into eleven thematic chapters that meticulously reconstruct the man's life and the athlete's career.
The author explores Henri's origins, starting from his early days in karting and circuit racing, all the way to his epic exploits in the World Rally Championship. Although he never won the World Championship title, Henri Toivonen is universally regarded as one of the greatest "Flying Finns" in motorsport history.
The book includes an extensive photographic archive: 170 photographs, many of which rare or previously unpublished, enrich the narrative, offering the reader a unique visual insight into the golden (and most ruthless) era of rallying, that of the legendary Group B.
