Once a year, the Eifel region goes wild: the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring transforms the Green Hell into an XXL motorsport festival.
Tens of thousands of fans camp in the Eifel forests and celebrate a rustic mega party dedicated to motorsport - and right next door, there are countless ultra-exciting duels in which world stars and young drivers, privateers and seasoned thoroughbred professionals compete against each other.
It's only logical that this special constellation produces legendary races - as was the case at the 53rd edition of this classic event. One hour after the start, a power failure in the race control and pit lane area caused a one-hour forced break - and gave the spectators a second start phase with all its moments of excitement.
What followed was a dramatic chase that repeatedly took out cars from the leading group, before the pole-sitter from Manthey-Porsche and the BMW from Rowe Racing finally found themselves in a direct duel for first place on the track, decided by a time penalty for the "Grello" as a result of a collision: penalty for Manthey, victory for Rowe.
