The first custom-built car to be industrially produced in Italy on the mechanical parts of an existing model ("skeleton" Fiat and "dress" Autobianchi), the Bianchina was an almost immediate success from its launch in September 1957.
Small and elegant, it represented for Italians a very classy small car, distinguished by its beautiful lines and finish, comfort and robustness. And if the Fiat 500 is considered by most to be “the car for the working day”, the small production car is “the car for the party”.
Always studied and cared for in every detail, it is proposed during its production in several solutions: from the convertible model to the cabriolet, from the hard top to the fuoriserie version, from the 4-seater saloon to the Panoramica.
The book Autobianchi Bianchina traces its history, accurately explaining the differences between models, making use of technical data sheets, chassis number tables and a wealth of photographs, with almost 200 pictures.
Particularly interesting and valuable is the author's advice on buying, collecting and restoration, complete with useful addresses.
