The first print campaign for the Ducati Monster, launched back in 1993, openly challenged motorcyclists: "How many bikes can you recognize without reading the name on the tank?". A rare case in which the advertising was not in the least bit exaggerated.
In addition to its high performance and excellent road handling, the Monster possessed the unique ability to combine charm and pure riding enjoyment, effectively inaugurating the highly successful niche of sporty and characterful "naked" motorcycles.
This volume retraces the entire saga of this iconic two-wheeler through a detailed technical and historical analysis of all the models—of which there are truly many—that have rolled out of the Borgo Panigale factories over a span of more than thirty years.
The work begins with an analysis of the original M900 and goes all the way to the very recent 2026 890, equipped with a front frame and an updated V2 engine. The smaller 600 and 750 cc sisters are not overlooked, explored throughout all their evolutions, nor is the highly powerful 4-valve larger sister (which has the S4 model as its pioneer).
Completing this text—currently the most exhaustive ever published on the subject—are in-depth looks at early custom tunings, analyses of competing motorcycles, original commentary from industry magazines of the time, and chapters dedicated to the Monster in the worlds of art and collecting, as well as production number statistics.
Ducati Monster. Tutti i modelli is authored by Giorgio Sarti, well-known as the author with the highest number of published books in the motorcycling field in Italy.
