Dune Buggy: La storia, la tecnica e i modelli delle versioni italiane motorizzate Volkswagen is a valuable monographic work born from the collection of numerous and interesting materials on dune buggies produced in Italy and powered by Volkswagen, but not only.

The result made available to enthusiasts is that of long and careful research into the origins of this particular and original vehicle born in America and events that led to its subsequent landing in Europe and finally in Italy.

Currently, the only publications on the subject are reduced to a couple of books published in America that do not even mention Italian or European production. One could therefore feel the lack in the Italian publishing scene of a book in Italian covering Italian production second to none in terms of aesthetic beauty and refinement of technical solutions.

Finding reliable sources, except for a few scarce articles published at the time in specialised magazines, was not at all easy. Nevertheless, it was possible to sort and catalogue a substantial documentation that had been destined to oblivion.

A few still-living manufacturers, enthusiastic about the initiative, provided photos of the period, diagrams, technical information, brochures and catalogues, not forgetting to tell, with due competence and authoritative sources, anecdotes about these legendary beach machines for which time seems never to have passed.
