EFFEUNO - ANALISI TECNICA, DEL DESIGN E DELLA DIFFUSIONE IN ITALIA
The decade of the 1980s began with the publication of the Capitolato Federtrasporti, a common list of specifications subscribed to by all public transport companies and the association of car manufacturers.
The specifications were designed to standardize vehicle production, so that manufacturers could offer equivalent and comparable products, trying to overcome punctilious local demands, which had sometimes greatly influenced mass production.
While the INBUS Consortium and Menarini decided to adapt their two models to these specifications, IVECO developed a new project, which - by virtue of its compliance with the Federtrasporti specifications - took the commercial name Effeuno.
This monograph is divided into three sections:
- Technical analysis, aimed at describing the common design elements of the chassis and mechanical parts, derived from the IVECO project and the Federtrasporti specifications.
- Design review, analysing the peculiarities of the prototypes and outfitting solutions offered by various Italian coachbuilders.
- Diffusion in Italy, focusing on the distribution and use of these vehicles in the most important Italian regions and cities.
