Much and more has been written about Enzo Ferrari, the founder of the world's most famous racing team and manufacturer of fascinating GT cars. This book - Enzo e Laura Ferrari - in a new, updated and expanded edition, reveals a complicated relationship, as told by their personal doctor.
What was Enzo Ferrari really like when he closed the door of his house? What was his relationship with wife Laura? Which were his domestic habits?
From the mid-1970s until their death, Professor Cesare Carani, a clinician at the University of Modena, constantly followed Enzo and Laura Ferrari. In particular, Enzo Ferrari required a check-up at his home, every day, even on holidays, early in the morning and in the evening, before dinner.
From this singular assiduity (Ferrari died at the age of 90), a bond was born that surpassed that between doctor and patient. It is a different and surprising Ferrari, the one that Professor Carani tells us for the first time, one of the very few, moreover, to have passed through the door of Largo Garibaldi in Modena countless times.
The publication of some letters between the two famous spouses is a further revelation about the experiences of the Cavallino's founder.
183 pages, with colour and b/w illustrations. Text in Italian and English.
