Enzo Ferrari: Power, Politics and the Making of an Automotive Empire is the english version of 'Ferrari Rex', by Luca Dal Monte
This is the book that had not yet been written on the life of Enzo Ferrari. It is the biography that redefines the life of a twentieth century giant, one of the most multifaceted, complex, tormented and monumental characters in the history of Italy.
The volume, over 1,100 pages, accompanied by completely unpublished images, is the result of five years of writing and eight of research carried out on newspapers and magazines as well as on documents and private papers never studied before; all enriched by the testimony of many of the personalities of the closest circle of the man from Maranello.
The undisputed protagonist of the book is above all the Ferrari man: from the dreamy boy to the driver of the early twenties, from the young entrepreneur to the histrionic sports director of the "Scuderia Ferrari" who, at the age of fifty, realizes his dream by becoming a manufacturer of automobiles.
After the Second World War, the 'Drake' once again throws himself into the fray and, to the sound of victories and world titles, consecrates the name of him and that of his factory in Olympus from world motoring.
Dazzling successes alternate with incalculable losses until Ferrari, as only great men can do, leaves the scene in silence.
