There is no doubt that Ferrari is a myth. In fact, the Maranello stable is the only one to have taken part in all the Formula 1 championships, the premier category of motorsport, since its inauguration in 1950. But passion, experience and absolute dedication are not always enough to guarantee success.

In fact, after the first overwhelming world championship successes with Ascari (1952 and 1953), Fangio (1956), Hawthorn (1958), Hill (1961) and Surtees (1964), the Rossa had to face three long cycles of intermittent fasting.

The one interrupted by Niki Lauda after eleven years in 1975, another that lasted from Jody Scheckter's 1979 triumph to the start of the Schumacher era in 2000 and that, unfortunately still ongoing, which began the day after Kimi Raikkonen's victory in 2007.

A great expert on Ferrari things like Adriano Cisario examines these temporal parentheses, identifying the pivot points, recalling the decisions that directed (and sometimes shattered) Ferrari's activities in those years and reporting little known and sometimes surprising facts, curiosities and statements.

How many people remember or know, for example, that in 1982 Enzo Ferrari decided to dispense with Gilles Villeneuve? Or that in 1992 the hypothesis of the team's withdrawal from Formula 1 was seriously considered? Or that Prost was ready to return in 1996 but was “burned” by Michael Schumacher?

From one affair to the next, we come to the present day, with the non-renewal of the contract that has so disappointed Sebastian Vettel, up to the last, great blow: the signing of the champion Lewis Hamilton, who is also struggling with a personal fast that has lasted since 2020 and is therefore determined to enter, together with the Redhead, into the ultra-legend of Formula 1.
