With eight million units produced between 1961 and 1992, it evolved from a spartan countryside vehicle to an elegant car in the Parisienne version, from a utilitarian work van to a versatile off-roader with the four-wheel drive Sinpar R4, to a fashionable and glamorous automobile with the Plein Air beach cabriolet version, produced in only 563 units.
This book traces the history of this iconic and internationally renowned car, which for decades, with its rounded forms, has been a constant presence on roads all over Europe.
