This book, published in 1966 by Longanesi – as part of the ‘La vostra via sportiva’ series directed by Gianni Brera – uses illustrations to explain, in simple terms, how to become a racing driver.
It reveals the driving techniques of the great champions (on bends, on straights, when braking, etc.), the secrets of professional racing, and the inner workings of the pits; it explains the roles of race directors, marshals and team managers; and it tells the story of the earliest races and the major circuits.
The two authors, Giancarlo Baghetti, a racing ace, and Tiziano M. Barbieri, a racing enthusiast, lead the reader from the earliest hill climbs and rallies to Formula 1, the ultimate dream of every racing driver.
The book is illustrated with 459 photographs, almost all previously unpublished and selected from over two thousand taken by one of the finest motor racing photographers.
250 pages. Text in Italian.
