The Alfasud, more than a car, an Alfa Romeo! And more than an Alfa Romeo, an industrial ambition for Southern Italy, which gave birth to a family sedan, compact, sporty and affordable.
Presented in 1971 in a rapidly expanding European market, with front-wheel drive and a 4-cylinder boxer engine, it was a revolution for Alfa Romeo.
During the twelve years of production, the range was completed by a station wagon and a sporty version, with more lively engines, improved in finishes and equipment, with 3 or 5 doors.
Alfasud has been involved in numerous competitions, on the circuit in the Alfasud Trophy, the gym of many drivers, in groups 2 and N in the rally field.
Despite economic and social problems, the production of over 900,000 units, until 1983, contributed to the doubling of Alfa production.
