From 1962 to 1978, throughout the 1000's career, many French and European customers were effectively convinced.
Square but flirty, docile in the hands of the young father or travelling companion of the elegant woman, the 1000 could also be transformed into a small, sporty, sleek car: Rally 1, Rally 3; the memory of the sporty 1000 is still alive.
Born during prosperity, the Simca 1000 hardly survived. Even today, it continues to perpetuate the image of a certain 'automotive beatitude' inseparable from our childhood memories.
This book traces its history, from 1962 to 1978, through initial studies, prototypes, different versions, road tests, advertising material, technical specifications and many pictures.
