This comprehensive monograph, the result of extensive research and accompanied by unique photographic material, illustrates the famous British sports car designed by Formula 1 team owner and ‘daddy of lightweight construction’ Colin Chapman. Simply a must for fans and owners of an Elan!
In 1962, the brilliant constructor Colin Chapman presented a small, manoeuvrable and well-powered sports car, offered in both convertible and coupé versions.
This was followed in 1967 by the Plus 2, a closed 2+2-seater version with a significantly longer body more suited to everyday use. After production of Elan models was initially discontinued in the mid-1970s, Lotus brought the name back to life 15 years later with the Elan M100.
In its first automotive monograph, author and Lotus specialist Matthew Vale tells the story and development of all Elan models up to 1995, analyzing each version of this technically interesting British classic in detail.
In addition to the technical data of all models, many Elan owners talk about their passion for the second road-going model produced in large quantities in Lotus history.
Lotus Elan: Die britische Sportwagenlegende features 173 extensively illustrated pages. Text in German.
