Written by the renowned Modena-based journalist, writer, and historian Nunzia Manicardi, the book Lusuardi Con le moto nel cuore e nelle mani is a tribute to the 50-year career of Claudio Lusuardi, founder of Lusuardi Racing.

The book is more than a simple sports biography; it presents itself as a true “portrait of the artisan culture of Motor Valley.” The author outlines what she calls the "humanism of two wheels" detailing Lusuardi’s evolution through three key phases:

  • The Origins and The Racer: Initially trained as a specialized mechanic at the Moto Villa workshop (founded by brothers Francesco and Walter Villa), Lusuardi stepped onto the track and evolved into a highly successful racer. Between 1974 and 1983, he won five Italian Championships in the 50cc class (three riding a Moto Villa/Lusuardi, one on a Derbi, and one on a Bultaco). On the global stage, he secured two third-place finishes in the World Championship (1982 and 1983), competing on Moto Villa machines that featured a custom chassis of his own ingenious design.
  • The Technician and Builder: Following the cancellation of the 50cc racing category in 1983, Lusuardi retired from professional racing. He redirected his deep mechanical expertise into team management and engineering, serving as the Technical Manager for Team Italia (1984-1985) in the new 80cc class and eventually debuting his bespoke creation, the "Moto Lusuardi".
  • Lusuardi Racing: The narrative culminates in the 50-year legacy of his Modena-based workshop. Today, Lusuardi Racing stands as a historical landmark in the Italian motorcycling scene, having proudly operated as an official Ducati service center for over three decades.
