The Malegno-Ossimo-Borno (or alternatively Trofeo Vallecamonica) is a hillclimb car race that takes place on a track between the towns of Malegno, Ossimo and Borno, in Valle Camonica.

The first edition is dated 1964 and the race took place every year between the second half of August and the beginning of September, until 1976.

After some years of suspension, the race returned to its splendor with the 1982 edition, which was attended by over 100,000 spectators.

Since 1983 the race has been included in the Italian Mountain Speed Championship (CIVM). Since 1995 it has been included in the European Mountain Championship (CEM).

Due to a tragic and absurd accident in which the pilot Adriano Parlamento lost his life (2005), the race was stopped for two years, consequently losing any international validity.

In 2021 50 editions are counted, with the historical record of the young Florentine Simone Faggioli.

Many famous names in international motor racing have taken part in this competition, such as Tonino Ascari, Arturo Merzario, Mauro Nesti, Giorgio Francia, Ezio Baribbi, Fabio Danti, Marsilio Pasotti "Pam", Giacomo Moioli "Noris", Franco Pilone and many others.

This precious volume, published in 1993, with the recurrence of the twenty-fifth anniversary, covers the editions from 1964 to 1992, and reports the relative rankings.

The author, Adriano Baffelli, has chosen to tell this marvellous hill-climb race through, above all, the stories of the protagonists, of the men - organizers or drivers - who have made it famous, who have contributed to make it "The Millemiglia of hill-climb races". Just as one of its founders, Renzo Castagneto, known and appreciated all over the world, defined it.

Together with the stories of the people emerges the will of the author to propose a serious research, set according to the most traditional journalistic canons, not at all romanticized or based on vague indications.

A fascinating reading!
