The Boxster has a special place in Porsche's history. Born in 1996 from a vehicle study unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show in 1993, the Boxster marked a crucial turning point and allowed Porsche to secure its future.
Its formula: a platform shared with the 911 and the genes of a real Porsche. Beginning with its styling, clearly inspired by the first racing spyders, like the 550 and 718, and its mid-engined architecture, a guarantee of an extremely sporting drive.
This book traces the meanders of the diversification policy that began in the late 1960s and led to the birth of a generation of front-engined models in the 1970s, followed by the arrival of the Boxster.
In the space of twenty-five years, this roadster became a Porsche classic. Since 2005, it has been joined by the Cayman sports coupe. Over the years, the different versions and generations of Boxster and Cayman shown in this book have conquered more than 360,000 enthusiasts.
