Founded in 1930 by Battista (Pinin) Farina, the Turin-based company has become one of the most important names in Italian automotive design, thanks to its successful combination of design and engineering culture, avant-garde styling and innovative technical solutions.

After the pioneering work of the founder - renowned for his singular creativity and skill - an equally fundamental role in the company's fortunes was played by his son Sergio (president of Confindustria from 1988 to 1992), who transformed Pininfarina into a modern industrial complex, maintaining its distinctive features as a laboratory of 'Italian style', even in sectors different from transport vehicles.

Now in its third generation, Pininfarina is engaged in combining a long-standing design tradition with new programmes of research and development of services in design, engineering and production.
