In 1988 was opened back in the World Superbike Championship reserved for cos called "serial" derived, namely high-performance motion "normally" for the road, which fell for the first time on the track by challenging yourself in a real Championship.

Following a three-year Ducati weblog achievements of Raymond Roche in 1990 and with the two titles by Doug Polen in 91-92.
