This volume, published in 2000 - an out-of-commerce edition - was inspired by the desire of a federated club, the Peugeot Italia Historic Club, to document a very particular history of the brand it represents: the Italian one.

Peugeot, in fact, has always had a privileged relationship with Italy, but few people know that it dates back to the dawn of motoring. The first 'Italian' car was in fact a Peugeot.

This ancient car manufacturer accompanied the development of Italian motoring from the very beginning, contributing both to the birth of industry in Italy and to the diffusion and popularity of automobiles through its participation in the most important races, including Targa Florio and Mille Miglia.

Peugeot, in the same way, took primacy and advantage of this involvement. There are many Italians who have made this brand great; important are the sporting victories achieved in Italy.

An Italian vocation even more evident and "strengthened" by the long and valuable collaboration with Centro Stile Pininfarina.

The Automotoclub Storico Italiano (ASI) contributed to this initiative, in line with its role, providing the basis on which to build a collection of memories that, at the end, has proved to be "monumental" for quantity and quality of information acquired.

L'avventura Peugeot in Italia (The Peugeot adventure in Italy), therefore, with historical references to production, the marketing of various models - including advertising - and the racing effort. A section is dedicated to motorbike production.
