The idea of ??writing this book is to sort the fortieth anniversary of the June 2, 1970, when Bruce McLaren, founder of the Scuderia, he died on the Goodwood circuit by trying the two-seater sports M8D with whom he had to play in the Can-Am Challenge .
So I wanted to revisit the pages written by the team from the Anglo-New Zealander Bruce McLaren in the years that saw the protagonist in the role of pilot and builder of racing cars, ushering in a journey that has now led McLaren to be, after the Ferrari, the team no longer present Formula One World Championship.
The story starts with the beginning and the consolidation of the highest in the world championship formula, winds through the Can-Am racing and goes on with the episodes that saw McLaren protagonist in the seventies in what was called the "Formula One of America" the USAC Championship, where it was enough to win the Indianapolis 500 to engrave his name indelibly into the elite of world.
