LAND ROVER HALF TON & SANKEY TRAILER
The Land Rover "Half Ton" or "Lightweight" was a special version of the Land Rover 88 of the second and later of the third series supplied to the British army.
Its peculiarity was the low weight to be able to be airborne. The transport class was in the 1/2 Ton class, hence the name.
Production began in 1968 and ended in 1984, when the Land Rover Series III was replaced by the 90 and 110 models. A total of 37,897 1/2 tons, petrol and diesel, were built.
The author draws a complete profile, with comparative tables between the various models, technical characteristics, chassis numbers and colors.
A superb book of over 300 pages edited by the Land Rover Historical Register, which must not be missing from the library of every passionate Land Rover and military vehicle.
