From the beginning of the 20th century to 1950, motor sports events concerning the city of Teramo and its province intertwined with an exciting social and economic development of the entire territory.

Gentleman drivers and motor racing champions of national importance, including Giovanni Spinozzi, Luigi Spinozzi, Diego De Sterlich Aliprandi, Antonio Ponno, Vincenzo Trifoni and others, contributed to this growth process.

It was the city of Teramo, with its men, that followed the example of Scipione Borghese, the pioneering prince of the magnificent history of Abruzzo motor racing, who in 1907 won the first Peking-Paris raid.

With the founding of the Automobile Club Abruzzo, based in Teramo, in May 1924, began the long history of the motorsport discipline, in this volume illustrated through personalities and facts documented with archival material and period images up to the first half of the 20th century.

In the short space of a decade (1924-1934) there were races that are still re-evoked today: from Loreto-Penne, to Teramo-Civitella del Tronto, to Coppa Acerbo, a race that has remained in the history of motorsports where Enzo Ferrari won the first edition (1924).

Audaci rombi teramani by Paolo Martocchia, with passionate historical precision, tells us this and more.
