Live an exceptional experience and discover the secret rooms of the Porsche Corporate Archives with Artifacts, a comprehensive overview of the historical objects, cars and stories of the people who made Porsche what it is today.
Presented by Type 7 and published by ERG Media with Edition Porsche Museum, Artifacts offers an abstract, artistic perspective with dramatic lighting and high-resolution photographs.
Each object is meticulously examined by photographer and chief creative officer Thomas Walk, focusing on the textures, patina and history held by each piece. Photographed on location in Zuffenhausen, thousands of historical pieces were carefully selected, exploring all the archives.
In the 356 pages, objects from the Porsche family, equipment from the Porsche design and development departments, cars from the Porsche Museum and never-before-seen things found in the Archives.
This large-format book completes the photographs with a separate pull-out index that tells the story behind each object. The result is a reading experience that evokes that of an archivist studying the history of Porsche.
In creating the book product, the ERG Media team focused heavily on a no-compromise approach, working with Andy Cruz of House Industries to create a tactile experience that mirrors the feel of the objects immortalised inside, even adopting a customised font.
Readers will find inside an archive box, complete with reinforced metal corners, the book's red slipcase, inspired by the world of racing and the thousands of folders of documents that line the shelves of the Archives.
And, once a lanyard is untied, the discovery of the book becomes a rich visual and documentary experience: a mine of photographs and information inside.
