The Porsche 924 was the fruit of the collaboration between two brands that were apparently incompatible with each other - VW Audi and Porsche - but which, working in synergy towards a common goal, achieved remarkable results: a compact, lightweight berlinetta with a front four-cylinder engine and refined “Transaxle” mechanics, capable of attracting a new and varied clientele to the Zuffenhausen marque, such as young people, ladies or those who had hitherto considered classic boxers too demanding.
Its history is one of constant evolution: the injection of power with the supercharged versions, the countless special series, the competition models and its “putative heir” the 944, finally considered a Porsche for all intents and purposes in terms of coat of arms, power, dynamic behaviour and constructional care.
Today, they remain among the German marque's most accessible models, affordable in terms of maintenance and popular with the most eclectic collectors. This is the reason they have found their rightful place in this series - Le Guide ASI - as the protagonists of a text dedicated to them that is agile and easy to consult but rich in details and historical and technical information.
