As the successor to the Porsche 356, the Nine-Eleven went into series production starting with the 1965 model year. To this day, Ferdinand Alexander Porsche’s design of the original 911 is considered a once-in-a-century achievement in automotive design.

The base engine of the new Porsche started at the highest performance level ever offered in its predecessor, the 356: 130 hp propelled the new Porsche 911 to a top speed of 210 km/h - figures from another world at the time.
