Paolo Rampini was born in December 1949 in Milan, the city where he has always lived. He had a passion for toy cars since he was a child.

"At 13 years old, he had a collection of 150 models". After 50 years of collecting, he still has a collection of around 12,000 pieces, most of which are die-cast models.

Paolo Rampini started his career as publisher and author of books on antique toys and model cars in 1982. From then to 2023 he has produced 29 paper books, among which The Golden Book of Model Cars (1995), and the books on Bburago and Brumm stand out for their interest and success.

Automodelli Rari Made in Italy, published in 2019 by Paolo Rampini, is a volume dedicated to fans of rare pieces of Italian modelling. This 110-page book offers an overview of model cars in different scales of many historical brands such as: Togi, Edil Toys, Mercury, Icis, Politoys, Pressomeccanica, etc…
