The natural habitat of many Porsche models is not the road, but the track. Whereas road cars are the object of care and attention, racing cars are only used to achieve maximum results. When they are no longer competitive, they are generally put to rest.
Author and photographer Rüdiger Mayer dedicates this book to Porsche racing cars that have been returned to life and restored, but he does not neglect more recent cars, such as the Porsche 919. His texts focus above all on the stories behind these cars. The volume is completed by a foreword of Jürgen Barth and Norbert Singer.
