Bergamonti vero is the fascinating tale, in three parts, of the racing career of the champion of impossible challenges, thrown openly at the Italian and Japanese multi-cylinder racers in the saddle of homemade, or single-cylinder series-derived motorbikes.

An exciting and overwhelming career that a year after his debut among the seniors in 1966 led him to win the two most prestigious Italian titles (250 and 500 cc) and then, in 1970, to be part of the world's most famous racing team.

With double success, breaking all local records, in the Grand Prix of Barcelona when he was only in his third race with the three-cylinder MV 350 and 500. And the records he broke were held by multi-time champion Giacomo Agostini and Mike Hailwood.

A legend, that of the six-times Italian champion, which here relives year after year as in a film, until 4 April 1971 and the tragic afternoon of racing at Riccione that after the days of sorrow opened those of polemics.

But Bergamonti vero is not only an accurate biography of the champion, written by someone who really knew and frequented him. In the second part, the author, Paolo Capelli, investigates, with the rigour of a historian and the spirit of a journalist, moments and technical details of the tragedy.

The book is also enriched by an in-depth technical part in which the author, with a solid professional background, analyses and illustrates with dedicated photographic reports all the motorbikes that Angelo Bergamonti rode in races, or at least on track.

The text is accompanied by an extensive iconography, with more than 300 pictures and the complete albo of the champion.
