Known in the circuit as the "Coguaro di Corneliano d'Alba", Dario Cerrato was one of the most representative Italian drivers in world rallying for almost twenty years, from the mid-1970s to the early 1990s.
After making a name with Opel, Cerrato's star began to shine with Lancias: 037, Delta S4 and 4WD. Cerrato won four Italian championships and three times the European Championship, in 1985, 1987 and 1990.
Although he never won a round with rainbow validity, Cerrato was also a protagonist in the World Championship with a second place at the 1986 Sanremo Rally as best result.
