Paolo Rampini was born in December 1949 in Milan, the city where he has always lived. He has cultivated his passion for model cars since childhood.
At the age of 13, his collection included 150 models. After 50 years, he still has a collection of around 12,000 pieces, mostly die-cast models.
Paolo Rampini began his career as a publisher and author of books on antique toys and model cars in 1982. Since then, he has published 36 books, including The Golden Book of Model Cars (1995) and volumes dedicated to Bburago and Brumm, which stand out for their interest and success.
This volume, published in 2025, is a complete, or almost complete, list of all the companies that produced model cars, toy cars, steam model cars, slot cars, military toys, pedal or electric cars for children, wooden or rubber model cars, and special models in white metal or resin between 1850 and 2000.
