Between 1963 and 1967, Ferrari created some of the most breathtaking sport-prototypes of its rich motorsport history. These were the cars belonging to the legendary P Series. They combined a mix of Italian passion, stunning sound, sculptural beauty and, in addition, they gained an unmatched racing pedigree.
It started with a double-victory of the 250 P at Sebring in the spring of 1963, a model which was to become the winner of the 24-Hours of Le Mans in 1963 and 1964. This tale of success continued with the more streamlined P2 that won in Monza as well as on the Nürburgring and at the Targa Florio.
For the 1966 and 1967 season, Ferrari continued their successful participation in endurance racing with the P3 and P4s that are, even today, often referred to as being the most beautiful sports cars of all time.
Ferrari P - 1963-1967 is a masterpiece in print, and most importantly, it is limited to just 330 numbered copies. It is a large-format, 470-page volume that details in three languages – English, German and Italian – all 22 of these cars ever built, with each one accompanied by its competition history.
With over 450 photographs – many previously unpublished – alongside comprehensive texts by Ed Heuvink, this book offers a stunning visual and historic journey through Ferrari’s golden age of endurance racing. Housed in an elegant slipcase, it is not only a tribute to Ferrari’s most beautiful racers but is, like them, a collector’s item in its own right.
All this material is complemented by written contributions from Luigi Chinetti Jr, the son of the North American Racing Team founder, and from one of Ferrari’s factory drivers and a multiple race winner, Nino Vaccarella.
