The Super Profile series by Foulis (Haynes Publishing) made for all enthusiasts who wanted to create their own personal library on the world's most fascinating cars and motorcycles.
The aim of each Super Profile is to take one such model and then to present every facet of its character to the reader by word and picture. A full portrait of the model is built up by describing its history, production changes and specifications.
Then there are road tests, owners'views, details of what to look for when buying, and information on the relevant clubs and specialists. Another feature of every Super Profile is a superb photo gallery of around ninety plates, of which many are in full colour.
This Super Profile, published in 1983, is dedicated to Fiat X1/9, a mid-engined targa type car produced by the Turin-based manufacturer between 1972 and 1989, built by Bertone and designed by Marcello Gandini.
