When the world rally introduced a new formula for "World Rally Cars", Ford took the opportunity. The Organization
M-Sport from Malcolm Wilson was commissioned to do the work, completing the project in less than a year and spent the next 12 years driving this all-wheel drive car with turbocharger.
Star drivers like Colin McRae, Carlos Sainz, Markko Märtin, Marcus Grönholm and Mikko Hirvonen have enriched the philosophy of ultra-professional, along with the support of major sponsorships such as Martini, BP and the state of Abu Dhabi.
Building on his in-house technical expertise, M-Sport not only tested and experienced the entire car on Ford's behalf, but took the time to develop the 300-hp, 2.0-liter turbo engine and drove the design of the complex four- wheel drive transmissions from Xtrac.
The reputation of M-Sport explodes to the point that when the rules changed, the company immediately produced a new generation of Fiesta WRC and kept the winning days.
